Front man Dan Baird will be absent, but Homemade Sin remains the concert headliner Sept. 9 at the Old Hilliardfest Art & Street Fair.

The singer-songwriter responsible for the Georgia Satellites’ 1986 hit “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” was required to leave the band’s tour due to a battle with leukemia.

At Baird’s invitation, Joe Blanton will appear as the guest lead singer for the remainder of the band’s tour, according to Robert Vance, a board member of the Hilliard Civic Association, which organizes the annual street fair.

Blanton is a member of the Nashville-based rock band, The Bluefields, a band that was formed by Baird, Blanton and Homemade Sin lead guitarist, Warner Hodges.

Homemade Sin will perform at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 on the Americana Main Stage.

Other performers are Erika Hughes & the Well Mannered, Lydia Brownfield & the Jagged Hearts, the Devil Doves, the Boondogglers and Sean Marshall & the Near Miss.
